I have been reading a lot about exercise and how it affects the skin.

Cardio and weight training exercises are incredibly good for your overall health. Exercise helps you to be more healthy and fight off sickness and it does help you to live longer. However there is still no prove that it helps the skin to look younger.

More studies need to be done on exercise and the skin.

Some people believe that the sweating as a result from exercise releases toxins from your skin and that is what helps the skin. Along with all the water that you drink before and after exercising, which also elevates toxins from your body.

Others believe that is the the stretching from the weight training or yoga, which stretches muscles that cause a more tight youthful appearance of the skin.

Exercise does make your skin glow a bit, from all the blood circulation, the increase energy, and perhaps the sweat...hehe.
We do know that exercises causes us to have more energy and makes us more happy. So these factors alone can cause our skin to look better.

So keep on exercising, you can do it! Exercise just makes you feel so good and it does make you look good overall, by toning and slimming your body! It may not make you look younger longer, but it will make you live longer! So live a happy long life!

I think there is something to the idea that the combination of cardio and sweating helps your skin look healthier. I jog a lot and as soon as I'm done and I rinse off, my skin looks so much healthier. This usually lasts for atleast a couple of days.

I once had a professor, who I knew was older, that looked better than most of the girls in the class. Surprisingly, I came to find out that she was in her 60's and had no plastic surgery, which was obvious because she had all her wrinkles, but she just looked young and fit.

What was her secret? She had been jogging and exercising every day ever since she was in college because of a weight issue she had back then. If that isn't proof enough that exercise helps, then I don't know what is.

And yes, she did eat healthy, which I know helps out, but I know a lot of people who "eat healthy" and they don't look half as good as her.

I do agree with that theory that exercise may help you to look young, I mean it helps you to live longer, so it makes sense that it will make you look younger too!

My health teacher was the same way, he was in his late 60s but looked 40, everybody thought so too!

However, there are so many other factors to cause one to look younger than their years, such as genes, eating healthy, and wearing sunscreen everyday. It is hard to say that just exercise alone is what causes a person to look young. But exercise certainly cannot hurt!
