Be Spot Off with the Right Ingrediants for Sun Spots!

|

Sunspots, pigmentation, brown spots, freckles, skin discoloration. They are all the same thing, which are often caused by the sun. Acne can leave pigmentation marks too.

Lasers can be effective and the fastest, but very expensive! And often the lighter spots take many treatments to fade away and may not even go away! The darker the spot the easier it is for the laser to remove it. Research a lot and find a good doctor, because I do not know much about lasers. If you beautiful Damsels out there really want to get laser surgery, then let me know and I'll help you research.

I would try topical treatments first and if you do not get the desired affect then you can try the lasers.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids work well in fading spots, but can take awhile, depending on the serverity of your spots. There are even strong AHA peels that you can buy to do at home that come in the 40% range! You should work your way up when using these high peels and be careful, make sure to follow the directions to a "T." Spas and doctors will also perform these high peels as well. Retinoids also help in fading spots, but they take even longer, a couple of years. Stable Vitamin C serums may help fade sun spots, but they too take awhile. (I will get more into Vitamin C soon)

Hydroquinone cream is one of the most commonly skin bleaching ingredients used in the U.S.

Tomorrow I will post all about Hydroquinone cream and it's mixed reviews in the U.S., across the world, and of course what I think!:)

Aging Gracefully - It's Smile Time!

|

When using Retinoids you should put them on twenty minutes after you wash your face. This gives time for your skin’s pH to come back down after washing. Or if you have a cleanser and toner with the correct pH, then that will balance your skin, so you can put on the retinoid right away. If not, then it is important to wait, because the least irritation to your skin the better.

I will get into the proper pH of products later.

Now if you have dry skin you can use an moisturizer to rectify the dryness that retinoids may cause. Or your skin may just need the extra moisture. However, after you put on the retinoid you should wait twenty minutes or as long as you can before you put on moisturizer.
If the moisturizer is put on right after, then it will interfere with the retinoid and it’s effectiveness.

For oily skin you really do not need a moisturizer, sunscreen in the morning is enough! You have to wear sunscreen with Retinoid products, they make you more photosensitive to the sun. Okay, I know enough with the sunscreen, but that is why I said to find the right sunscreen and then bring the retinoids on.

Avene retinaldehyde products are not just a great product for anti-aging, but they really helped clear up my acne! I mean I had terrible hormonal cysts all along my chin that would not go away for years! Avene's Retinaldehyde cleared it up so fast. And if I do get a blemish on my chin now it is a pimple, not a cyst and it will go away in a couple of days instead of a week, which is how long cysts/pimples took before.
So if you have acne then give these Avene retinaldehyde products a shot! They might work for you too!

I mean I have tried almost every product out there and this one finally works! Plus it’s never to early to start an ant-aging routine!

Don’t forget to smile and laugh today, that is the real key to staying young.

The Right Cleansers with your Retinoids!

|

Now if you are flaking a lot, the first thing you should do is check your facial cleanser. Detergents, such as sulfates, are harsh on your skin. By just changing your cleanser, the flakes can decrease dramatically. I was using Purpose cleanser, because I heard it was good, but then I looked at the ingredients:

(from www.drugstore.com)
Purpose Gentle Cleanser:
Water, PEG 80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG 150 Distearate, Sodium Lauroampho PG Acetate Phosphate, Fragrance, Quaternium 15, Tetrasodium EDTA

While, there are not too many ingredients, which can be good, Sorbitan Laurate is a mild sulfate, but Sodium Laureth Sulfate is not quite as mild. And it's at the top of the list!
Although, it is more mild than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.

When looking for cleansers look for the "th" at the end of Laureth, the "ly" is strong.

Detergents make the cleanser foam. Many people like the foam, because they think it cleans better and it feels good. I thought so! But really nope, the less foam the better.

Now the Purpose cleanser did remove all of my makeup exceptionally well, but cleanser are not really suppose to do that. That's what makeup removers or oils are for. The cleanser just gets the lasts traces of film and dirt off.

I really like the Olay Foaming face wash for Senstive Skin. Now I know it has foaming right in the name! But the sulfate is a gentle one and it's way in the middle of the list instead of at the top!

Olay Foaming Face Wash:
Water, Glycerin, Sodium Myristoyl Sarcosinate, PEG 120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Glycol Distearate, PEG 150 Pentaerythritol Tetrastearate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Polyquaternium 10, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Cocamide MEA, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA,
Laureth 9

After I started using the Olay cleanser the flakes stopped for me! It is so gentle.
Plus it is nice to use a gentle cleanser in the morning. Before, I was using the Purpose in the morning, with is strong makeup removing power. I didn't even think about it.
But we don't need that strong of cleanser in the morning when we aren't wearing makeup! Plus acne prone skin really does not need all those medicated cleansers. They can be too harsh, especially with all the medications afterwards. Plus they really don't work, if you don't massage the cleanser all over your skin for at minute, because the medicine won't have time to work.

So there it is again, my secret. Read the ingredients and get reviews before buying!

Hope this helps out there!

(One more post about Retinoids coming soon!:)

Aging Gracefully - secrets still continued

|

The best part is Avene products are pretty reasonably priced, compared to the expensive products in department stores, that don’t even work!
Ystheal is only $32 and can be found at many CVS drug stores! Check it out on www.cvs.com to see if your local store carries it, not all do, or you can buy it right online. If you joined the CVS club you will get coupons and cash back. They also have a $4 off of $20 coupon a lot too!

Now $32 really is a great deal! One bottle lasts for about 6 months! All you need is a pea-size drop for your whole face. And I mean pea-size! This stuff is strong!

Also you must start out slowly! Use it three times a week and then move up to four times a week, then every other day and then every day, if your skin can handle it. Retinaldehyde will make your skin purge (causing little pimples) and flake for the first couple weeks, this means the product is working! The Retinaldehyde is turning over your skin cells. Isn’t it great to know that the product is working and is strong enough to do something! So if you started right off, with everyday your skin will really flake and get irritated, the skin adjusts gradually to Retinoids. Also if your skin never stops flaking, then the Retinaldehyde may be to strong for your skin. Then you can move down to retinol and work your way up or try different products out there like antioxidants (more on these soon).

(Even more to come on Retinoids!)

Retinoids! There are actually different names for Retinoids, which can tell you their level of potency. First of all there’s retinol which is what’s in most of the over the counter products now!

And really retinol is not strong enough to do anything!

Retin-A is the strongest retinoid that you can buy and you have to have a prescription.

Retinaldehyde is the level that Avene produces and again it is the strongest you can buy without a prescription!
In the U.S. you can buy two different types/strengths of Avene’s Retinalhyde products. Ystheal + Emulsion lotion for normal to combo skin. They do not have one out yet for oily skin, but this is the one that works for my very oily acne prone skin! There is also an Ystheal cream and Eluage Retinaldehyde cream for dry skin. The Eluage has Hyaluronic Acid in it as well, so it enhances the Retinaldehyde! Therefore, the Eluage is the more potent anti-aging product. To go with the Eluage Retinaldehyde cream, is a Eluage firming gel, that can be applied to only the deep lines and wrinkles.

As a beginner or a women in the mid twenties, I would start off with Ystheal, it’s more gentle. Starting off with the Eluage can lead to irritation. If you wish, after a few years you can move up to the Eluage, but I would hold off until your forties/fifties or get a prescription depending on your budget and desire. (Remember Retinoids can NOT be used well pregnant.)

I have heard it really is best to start with the anti-aging products in your twenties or thirties.
Preventing is easier than erasing. So you want to prevent the aging for as long as possible.

(I will talk more about Avene products and how to apply it properly in my next post!)

Aging Gracefully - the secrets

It is time for talk about Anti-aging!

Everybody wants to know what the best anti-aging product out there is! It is so popular right now. Well, the most important thing though, is to focus on enjoying life and being with love ones. That is key. However, we should all try to find the best products for us and age as gracefully as we can! :)

Well, once again you have to look at the ingredients to find the most potent anti-aging product that is right for you! You cannot just read the front with all the great claims. Often times skin care companies will put just a little bit of the ingredient in their product, not even enough to really do anything! Yet they can claim it works miracles on the front of their product!

So you have to check the ingredients and make sure the ingredient that you want is up high on the list!

After researching a lot on the internet and visiting beauty boards. The first best
product to help you age gracefully is sunscreen of course. And the best anti-aging products are with vitamin A/Retinoid! Retinoid is an anti-aging ingredient that doctors have announced have scientific proof that really works! Eau Thermale Avene! Eau Thermale Avene is the best company! This skin care company is from France and have recently come into the United States. Avene has the highest potent retinoid products that you can buy over the counter!

(Don't worry (it causes aging...hehe) there's more to come about retinoids! And the best products from Avene!)

Time to Wash Your Face. Want Some Oil?

|
Ok, so hopefully some of you found some new sunscreens to try out!?

Well these
sunscreen can be stubborn to remove and water resistant. So you want to make sure that your remove it completely before bedtime. And using makeup remover over your whole face can be very drying, depending on which makeup remover you use. And some makeup removers say they are alcohol free, when they are not!

The best thing I have found to remove my makeup are Oils!

Yes, that is right oil. At first I was like what!? I can't put oil on my super oily face! But oil actually dissolves oil. And it is extremely gentle and does not strip your face. So you really do not want all those products out there, that say oil free! Because oil gets rid of dirt, makeup, and can clean out the pores!

There are a lot of oils out there. I like Jojoba oil the best. Jojoba oil is the closest oil to sebum, which is what your facial oil glands produce. Jojoba oil can be used on oily and dry skin. But oily skinned gals seem to like it better. There is also olive oil, which has lots antioxidants and many dry women like. Yes, the olive oil in your kitchen!

Just Google Oils for Face!

There are so many different oils out there with so many different benefits.

I love removing my makeup with oils. It is the best eye makeup remover ever! I wet a cotton pad and squirt a little oil on it then press it against my eyelid for a few seconds. Then I gently wipe my eyelid. And Poof! It all comes off! No Stinging! And oils actually moisturize too. So while I am remove my makeup it is moisturizing not stripping/irritating my skin dry.

  • First you need to wash your hands with soap and water for 30seconds or more.
  • Then you drop a few drops of oil into your fingers and glide it gently all over your face.
  • And then you wet a cotton pad and drop a few drops on the pad and remove your eye makeup.
  • Continue to use your fingertips to glide the oil all over your face for a minute.
  • Next splash your face with water. And squirt a drop of a very gentle cleanser into your palms and rub together. (I like Olay Gentle Foaming cleanser for sensitive skin)
  • And then glide your fingertips mixing the oil, cleanser, and water all over your face for 30seconds to a one minute! (remember this is key)
  • Finally splash your face with water and pat dry.
Some people use oils as a moisturizer too. And Jojoba oil is a good moisturizer as well! Just two drops into your hands and gently pat all over your face. And you are ready to go goodnight!

Try it and see! I just love using oil as a makeup remover! No Stinging!

People also use Ponds cold cream in place of the oil, so this is a good gentle substitute if you are too scared to use oil on your face just yet. I have never tried it, but many oily skinned gals like it.

And dare I say it.
Mineral Oil. Yes. I said it! Mineral oil can be used as a face oil too! Mineral Oil is not evil, like many natuaral companies want you to believe for some reason.? Mineral oil comes from petroleum, which is what Vaseline is. Petroleum comes right from the earth, so it is completely natural and the most moisturizing ingredient you can find! That is why it is in so many lotions out there! If it was evil and hurt people then these big companies would have stopped using it ages ago!

Mineral Oil also is one of the least clogging oils out there!

I am going to try mineral oil soon! I cannot wait! Because it is way cheaper than Jojoba Oil!

Dollar for Your Skin?

|

Guess what everybody!

I was at the 99Cent store, that’s the 99Cent store not the Dollar Tree or Family Dollar.
There’s a big difference between all these dollar stores. They are carry different products and brands. Well, the 99Cent stores are huge and they carry some big brand products!

I having been going to the 99Cent store a lot more recently and they change all the time. You never know what you might find! That’s one of the reasons why I love going to them, that and the price. :)

So the other I found the AHA Peels by the Alpha Hydrox brand!

AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid. It is a chemical exfoliant. There are manual exfoliants and chemical ones. You have to try them both to see what your skin likes better. But chemical exfoliants can be more gentle than manual exfoliants, because the manual exfoliant scrubs are often too large, rough and abrasive on the skin.

Then there is BHA, which stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid (or salicylic acid). It is known to clean out the pores and kill pimples. But it can irritate some people and cause pimples. Like me!

AHA exfoliates the surface and helps regenerate the skin cells faster. So it doesn't kill the pimples, but for some reason it helps me not to get pimples so often! Probaley because my skin regenerates faster. AHA also helps fade post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks left over from acne, especially the hormonal acne that many adults will get along their chinline and neck. AHA can help sun spots as well, due to the shedding of skin cells.

So AHA works better for me than BHA! It is fading my acne marks and helping acne not to form as well.

Acids do make you more photo-sensitive to the sun. So don't forget the sunscreen!

There are many products out there that contain
BHA and AHA. But again you have to look at the ingredients. Acids must be at a correct pH balance to affect you skin. A pH that is higher than 4.0 will not exfoliate your skin the higher it is the less it exfoliates. And a pH of 3.5 of lower can irriate the skin. So make sure that your AHA product has the correct pH or you are just wasting your money! This is for AHA, BHA pH balances are different.

Alpha Hydrox also makes a AHA gel for oily skin too. Glycolic acid is another name for Alpha Hydroxy Acid. So is malic acid, lactic acid, and citric acid. And the gel has 10% glycolic AHA in it. This percentages is enough for every day.

The Alpha Hydrox peels, which is what I found at the 99Cent store is such a steel, they usually cost around $17 and I got it for $1!! And it actually does something!
It's all because of the ingredients, just because some is priced really high or really low, does not mean it will work or not.

Anyway, the peels has
14% Glycolic acid, pretty strong, so they should be used once a week. They come as a cloth that you lay on your face for 10-15min. Now I found the cloth hard to fit my face and a hassle. So I just squeeze the liquid out into a container and just pat a little of the liquid all over my face. Doing this enabled me to get three uses out of one mask!

So run and check out your 99Cent store now!

Or just don't forget to occasionally check out the store, because you never know what treasure you might find!

Happy Easter Everyone! Let Chocolate Help Your Skin!

|

I hope you are spending time with love ones right now! And eating a lot of chocolate!

By the way, don't believe in the
chocolate myth!

Chocolate does not cause acne, there's no scientific proof!
Acne is caused by hormones, heredity, oil glands, bacteria, excessive washing, and some medications.

Poor hygiene, stress and unhealthy diet can aggravate acne but not cause it!
Chocolate is actually a great source of antioxidants! Well, the really Dark Chocolate. The darker the better, try to find the 85% cocoa. Antioxidants are very good for the body and the skin! (I will get more into antioxidants later and the best topical one for your face)

Dark Chocolate contains flavonoids, which are like those in tea, red wine, fruits, and vegetables. These flavonoids can help the skin be more moist, less scaly and red. This is because flavonoids actually absorb UV light! Dark chocolate is also good for the heart!

  • A small 1.6 ounce of dark chocolate a day is recommended! :)

So enjoy that Chocolate bunny!

Time to get some Sun on that Face!

|
I was strolling through the Ulta beauty supply store the other day and guess what I saw there!?

Neutrogena has a new Sunblock out that gradually tans!

I am so excited, because I have been looking since last summer, for a sunless tanner that also was a stable sunblock with great UVA protection!

And this is it!

After reading the ingredients, which has the Helioplex! The percentages look like the UVA protection is just about as good as the regular Dry-Touch SPF55!

Here's the active ingredients for the Neutrogena Sunblock, Color Boosting Gradual Tan SPF 30:

Active Ingredients: Avobenzone (3%), Homosalate (8%), Octisalate (5%), Octocrylene (2.35%), Oxybenzone (6%)

Here's the active ingredients for the Neutrogena Dry-Touch SPF55:

Active Ingredients: Avobenzone (3%), Homosalate (10%), Octisalate (5%), Octocrylene (2.8%), Oxybenzone (6%)

The Dry-Touch is a little higher but not by much! Yay! UVA should be around 15-17!

I got the ingredient lists (pic. too) from www.drugstore.com! (it's a great website to look up the ingredients on products before going to the store, so you don't have to stand in the store reading ingredients!:)

Here's the link to the New Neutrogena Sunblock:

http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=183388&catid=9715

They have Light and Medium too!

I am going for the Medium color, my skin is medium fair. I have use sunless tanners before and I usually start with the Medium color and then more on to Dark(hopefully Neutrogena will make it soon) and that usually works for me! I am going to use this on my face!
Remember you can use regular sunscreens on your face, they are the same thing, you just get more bang for your buck!

I am going to buy this sunscreen soon!

At Ulta they are having a sale on sunscreens right now, buy one get the second 50% off! (the sale lasts until April 12th)
And you can use your coupons too!

I will let you know how I like it!!

The Secret to Picking Out the Right Sunscreen!

|

Sunscreen ingredients! It’s the most important part of buying sunscreen! Please read them! Your skin will thank you! And once you figure it out, it will only take you a second!

Now there are Chemical and Physical sunscreens. You have to pick the one that your skin likes the best! Generally the Chemical sunscreens do have higher UVA protection! Remember UVA 8 is good and 19 is great! Well Physical sunscreens only go up to about 8.

On with the fun part.

Many Chemical sunscreens contain:
Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, and Oxybenzone.
Now if the sunscreen contains Avobenzone, make sure that it does NOT contain Octinoxate! It will
destablize the suncreen causing it to degrade faster in the sunlight, meaning less protection for your skin! Think of it like octiNOxate!

Many Physical sunscreens contain:
Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide

Make sure that they have both ingredients!

Also look for high percentages of these active ingredients. The higher they are and the certain combination of the ingredients means a higher UVA protection number!

So a chemical sunscreen with Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 13%, Octisalates 5%, Octocrylene 2%, Oxybenzone 4% has a very good UVA protection of around 11-13. (by the way it’s Coppertone Water Babies spf 50)

So just look for other sunscreens with about these percentages in it and you got yourself a great sunscreen!

There’s also a website that will calculate all the ingredients in any sunscreen and give a estimation of the UVA number! It is usually off by a number or two, but that's better than nothing!

https://www.ciba.com/ind-pc-uv-sss.htm

Go ahead check it out!

Oh, also once a sunscreen has been opened it will only last for about a year! So all those sunscreens you had in your cabinet since last summer, toss them!

(Money saving tip: Check out your Big Lots store, they have great deals ($2.50 for Ocean Potions and $3.50 for Hawaiian Tropics Baby Faces SPF50) on sunscreens right now!)

Sunscreen, Does Yours Protect You from UVA Rays?

|
Hi all:) Back to sunscreen we go!

So I have used that Neutrogena Dry-Touch sunscreen with the cool Helioplex ingredient and I really liked it! It didn't break me out and it has a pretty nice finish, even though it felt thick to put it on at first. Unfortunately, it balls up on me. So then I tried out the Hawaiian Tropics oil free SPF 30 sunscreen and it work pretty good, but it was 8 UVA and I thought I needed higher. I was getting a little obsessed…so I tried more different kinds the Banana Boat Sunwear SPF50 one with the UVA12 and it did not do well for my acne either….and so I tried others, such as ones from Drug Stores, Department Stores, and Europe.

I also tried Shiseido, which has a very nice fluid one, this sunscreen is the best for oily skin it actually made my skin matte for a few hours! And believe me my skin gets really oily in a half an hour after I am done with my makeup! However, this sunscreen did leave a slight white cast on my face, which is fine for those of you with porcelain or Scarlett Johansson skin. Also it is $50! And yes, you should spend the $50 if it is right for your skin, sunscreen is the number one item to invest in! And it is hard to find a sunscreen that your skin tolerates and one that you will happily put on everyday!

So finally I went back to the Hawaiian Tropics. My skin tolerates this sunscreen, I don’t break out! And UVA 8 is good protection, way better than what I was using years ago which was like no UVA protection at all, only SPF protection! Plus it’s pretty light and does well on my oily skin!

So yes, oily, acne skinned gals can wear a sunscreen everyday!! And I wear it even when it is raining and when I am at home, because I have lots of windows and you never know when I have to run to the store or get the mail. But it is up to you if you want to wear it at home. Not everybody does.

Don’t forget you neck and chest area and hands! Hands, always put it on when you have to commute home and what not!

Remember you have to put on the full ¼ teaspoon to your face and ¼ teaspoon to your neck! If you don’t put on the full amount you will only get half of the UVB/UVA protection!!! So this is very important!

So please experiment a little to find the sunscreen for you! It has helped balance out my skin tone and my acne pigmentation marks are fading, due to sunscreen and some other skin care products!

Sunscreen is the most important thing you can do for your skin to prevent aging, especially premature aging! You should start everyday when you are a baby! So don’t forget to put it on your cute babies, Moms. But if you are all grown up, then it is never to late to start preventing future damage! Go buy that sunscreen right now, even if there is cats and dogs pouring outside or a foot of snow blocking your driveway!

(On my next post, I will post the ingredients and their percentages that you should look for to get the right kind of UVA protection for you!)

Do You Know How to Pick the Right Sunscreen?

|
Now just because it is Winter/Spring (depending where you at) right now does not mean one should not be wearing sunscreen everyday! That’s right everyday!

Now I know, I know. Everyday? Yes, everyday! I did not start wearing
sunscreen everyday until about a year ago! I thought yeah, yeah, blah blah…. I only need sunscreen in the summer. And even in the summer the most I wore on my face was SPF15 because I was a tanner! I mean there were some summers growing up that I lied out almost every single day! Now at least I only tanned with the real sun and didn’t use tanning beds, because they ARE worse. And now I do have a couple sun spots on my face, not a lot, and they pretty much look like freckles, but I know they are from the sun!

I have research a lot and joined beauty forums, where I discovered skin care products that work for my skin. Of course the products make me photosensitive to the sunlight. And since everybody was so
sunscreen obsessed on the boards, I caved. Yes, I did wear sunscreen occasionally when I was outside for long periods of time, but apparently these sunscreens were not stable!

What? Stable?
Yes a stable sunscreen last longer on the skin and protects the skin longer than an unstable sunscreen by a couple hours! A stable sunscreen also protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. When I use to pick up sunscreens I just grabbed ones that either had Avobenzone in it or the ones with the Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide in it. However there is another ingredient in the Avobenzone sunscreens that can destabilize the sunscreen, which causes it to degrade faster in the sun and be less protective on you!

So yes, you have to look at sunscreen ingredients! It only takes one second to look! First you have to learn about what they mean! It’s pretty easy and you only have to learn the active ingredients. Because the active ingredients tell you how much protection from the UVA rays you are getting. The UVA rays are the rays that causes the aging (wrinkles)! The SPF number protects you from the UVB rays.

An SPF 30 is good for everyday, but you should really put on higher if you are going to be walking around in the sun a lot or at the beach!
So remember to look at the ingredients because the UVA protection # is not on the front of the bottle like the SPF.

In the U.S.A. one can now buy UVA protection as high as about 19! This is the new sunscreen that was released last summer, by Neutrogena! The Dry-Touch SPF 55 and 70 with the new Helioplex ingredient! However, a UVA protection of 8 is good for everyday, 19 is great, but 8 is good for everyday going to work days. In Europe one can buy up to about 35 UVA protection! It’s interesting that Europe is so far ahead of the U.S. when it comes to sunscreen. At least the U.S. is finally getting better! Of course I can’t say I was waiting around for the U.S. to get better since I didn’t start wearing it everyday until the Neutrogena sunscreen hit the shelves. I guess I just lucked out!
(I will post more about the importance of UVA protection next time!)

Do You Want to Start a New Skin Care Routine?

|

Caring for your skin can be a complicated process, especially if you are acne prone. There are so many products out on those shelves, that it can even become stressful! (yikes)

I have been there and have tried basically every
product and different brand out there!

Acne can often be caused by an irritating culprit. In order to stop your skin from getting irritated you have to figure out what causes it. It helps to start from the basics, when figuring out what irritates your skin and what doesn’t.

The basics is usually just facial cleanser and water. Or just water for a while, it’s up to you. Then try a few different cleansers to see which one works for you.

It is best to give a new product a month to see if it works before tossing it. I know that is really hard to do, but just try it. Then if that cleanser works for you after a month you can add another product into your routine. That should be sunscreen! (again I will post more about this!)

Here's how to wash the face correctly:

  • First you splash your face with water.

  • Then get a squirt of a very gentle cleanser and rub in the palms and finger tips.

  • Next gently rub your fingertips over your face. Do this for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute! (this is key! I didn't know this for a long time!)

  • Finally splash your face with water and pat dry!

After about a month you can add moisturizers. If you are oily you do not need a moisturizer in the night or the morning!
Sunscreen in the morning is all you need for moisture!

Remember give a month in between each new product. Slowly, is good when it comes to finding a new routine! Because if you introduce all of these new products all at once, you will not know what is irritating your skin and causing acne!

So slowly introduce one product at a time and see how your skin reacts before you introduce another.

Now we have to find what skincare products work, which is the hardest part! Believe me I know! I have very oily skin and have been struggling with acne for 15 years (I am 26)! Not one day in those 15 years have I had a clear face, I have always had at least one pimple. Now I bet your waiting for me to say, but now my face is totally clear and it’s all because of this one magical product that you should all run out and buy!
