Anti-Aging Pill

I heard about an anti-aging pill that could be hitting the market soon. However, they still have some research to prove this pill will really extend your life. This pill is a red wine resveratrol pill that uses the grape skin.

"Resveratrol, a molecule found in red wine, has been touted as a molecular mimic of a calorie restricted diet, an intervention that has been shown to nearly double the lifespan of all forms of life when caloric intake is cut in half. Food deprivation is not expected to be adopted by the masses, but a pill that may stave off aging would certainly be welcomed.

"It takes life-long adherence to a limited-calorie diet to activate as many genes as Longevinex(R) did in just a short time. This is the first time any technology has been shown to significantly alter more genes than calorie restriction," says Bill Sardi, spokesperson for Longevinex(R)."'

We have heard that drinking red wine in moderation, one glass a day, can add years to your life and help keep your heart healthy. I also heard on Fox news about this pill and they said, you would have to drink 1,000 bottles of wine to get the amount of ingredients contain in only one of these pills. Too bad, 1,000 bottles is a bit too much to drink in one day.

I guess we will have to wait and see if the fountain of youth comes within our lifetime. And we should enjoy the wonderful anti aging treatments we have right now, such as sunscreen.

Don’t forget to smile and laugh more today, that is the truth fountain of youth. Age gracefully with a smile!

Beautiful Love and Dating

Valentine’s day is just around the corner. Do you have a lovebird for Valentine’s day? I don’t, but I am hopeful I will find my true love one day. I just have to be patience and one day I will run into him.

I think being in love also brings out more beauty in you, because of all the happiness radiating from you.

There are so many ways to meet new people to find love. Try new activities or events, such as golf, a cooking class, join new clubs, political groups…

Dating sites are popping up more and more. Have you ever tried a dating site? I have and I really like them. On dating sites you can find out a little about the person, such as their hobbies or religion. I think dating sites make it a lot easier to find someone with similar interests and they should be used, since we are so privileged to have such technology. I say take advantage of all the FREE sign-ups out there.

There are even dating sites that cater to your specific interests, such as equestrian cupid. Horse lovers can unite and ride off into the sunset together. What a great way to connect over something the two of you love. You can even sign up for free to check out the site and the men.

What do you think would you join this dating site? More and more people join everyday, you are bound to find someone you love.

Sweet Scents - Coffee Candle

I just bought a Yankee Candle the other day and the scent is roasted coffee. And it smells exactly like coffee beans. Yankee Candles have a pretty strong scent with a great throw, many people like them. I really like the coffee scent, it is so different. It does kind of make me want to make coffee or chocolate though, which could be bad. Or good, I have only lighted it one time, so we will see.

I bought the candle at Marshall’s. I love that store, it is all about the best deals. Why buy a big brand name clothing item or expensive candle when you can get it for half price at Marshall’s.

What scents do you find relaxing and sweet smelling?

Heavy Coverage Liquid Foundation

Some women need a heavy coverage foundation to cover all of their red spots. Acne, Sun spots, acne post marks, rosacea...can unfortunately all cause redness. It is very hard to find that perfect shade with the coverage you need. Heavy foundation is easily buildable without looking cakey. Apply a little at a time, it goes a long ways. Here are some rave reviews for heavy coverage foundation from makeupalley.com

Revlon Color Stay - When first applied foundation looks light, but will look darker after it dries. It’s a little on the pink and dark side, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

Rimmel Lasting Finish - not drying, gives dewey look. Appears darker but is lighter after applied.

EL Double Wear - The color is the bottle may go on lighter than they appear.

Mac Studio Tech - creamy foundation.

Kevin Aucoin SSE - has very heavy coverage and you may have to mix it with a moisturizer to lighten it up a bit.

How you apply your foundation can also affect how it looks on your skin. Apply foundation with a wet thin sponge, thick sponges can be too heavy and pick up too much foundation. Cheap thin sponges will give you a dewy look not too cakey or matte. Brushes also work really well to blend, but can take extra time, try a skunk or flat brush.
You may need to mix foundation colors and brands to get the right shade for your skin. Also, try using a concealer for red spots for extra coverage, if needed.

Here's a YouTube video to help you apply a liquid foundation. There are also a million other how-to videos on YouTube for applying foundation to check out.

Coppertone Sunscreen Nutra Shield Dual Defense

So I went back to Wal-mart yesterday and I found that sunscreen I was talking about in my post a couple days ago. And yes it was the Coppertone brand! I am not crazy…hehe. :)

However, I do not think this Coppertone sunscreen is very new. Well, the bottle does not have the “new” label on it anywhere. I cannot find any reviews about it anywhere though, which is a bummer. I bought it up anyway, even though I like to buy skincare products after reading the reviews. I decided to give this new sunscreen a try.

Besides, you cannot just go by reviews. Even if a product receives all five star reviews, it still comes to down to your skin. Everybody’s skin is different and what your skin tolerates is different.

The Coppertone Nutra Shield SPF 70 Dual Defense with antioxidant down the in the middle of the ingredient list, so not much effectiveness there. However, I am not using any antioxidant product, because they were breaking me out and I just have not tried anymore. So I thought even a little bit may be better than nothing.

Coppertone has this Nutra Shield SPF70 sunscreen in a smaller bottle face version and the bigger bottle for the whole body. I bought the bigger bottle, because I have found that the ingredients in many facial sunscreens is very smiliar to the body version of sunscreens, thus it is more economical to buyer the larger bottle.

I also kind of want to find a more protective sunscreen for summer coming up. Plus, the higher PPD the better for preventing premature aging and post acne marks. Update: The PPD is around 10 judging from the CIBA sunscreen calculator. A PPD of 8 is good, anything higher is great.

The consistency of this sunscreen is very light and it rubs in easily. My other Neutrogena SPF 30 color boosting sunscreen is much thicker. The smell is very light too, I could not even detect one. So far I like it, but it is only the first day. Update, to follow if breakouts or no breakouts occur.

Have a great day and don't forget to wear sunscreen everyday, rain or shine! :)

Life Changes Affect your Skin

What we put in our bodies affect our over-all well being. And it does affect our skin too. I am not talking about all those myths, that if you eat chocolate and French fries then you will get acne. I am saying, eating healthy can help you to have better skin, while eating junk food all the time can have a negative affect on your skin and over-all well being.

The vitamins or drugs that we ingest can affect our bodies and skin too. I believe in taking vitamins and drugs, legal ones that is. Unfortunately, many people start taking illegal drugs and that can not only mess up your skin with premature aging, but it can seriously mess up your life. Addictions to any drug even prescription drugs, like a vicodin addiction can be extremely hard to conquer.

Fortunately, there are great treatment facilities, like Promises to go and change your life around. Many celebrities and all types of people go. I think it is interesting that you hear more and more about celebrities going to rehabs, perhaps it was just not mention in the past as much. Or they didn’t have such nice places to go to get help. These places have yoga classes and are very beautiful… It is nice to know that there are always places to go to heal your body, life, and skin. There is always a time to start fresh each and every second.

New Coppertone Sunscreen or Not?

I was at Wal-Mart today and I saw a new sunscreen by Coppertone with antioxidants in it. And so I went home to check out the reviews and look it up at drugstore.com and the Coppertone website. However, I cannot find it anywhere!

I know it was the brand Coppertone, because I made a point to double check the brand name. Maybe, I am going crazy or maybe it was not Coppertone.

I did not buy it right off, because I was just browsing and did not need a new sunscreen yet. Plus, I like to read reviews about products before I buy them.

I kind of want to go back to that Wal-Mart tomorrow and buy it, just to prove to myself that it was indeed Coppertone! Stay tuned for the verdict soon!

Vaseline Clinical Therapy Lotion!

I have been using Vaseline’s new lotion, Clinical Therapy that I mentioned in a previous Vaseline post. And I really like it. The lotion is not too thick nor to thin and it makes my skin feel so soft. The clinical therapy lotion makes my skin feel like I just put on a body cream, but it rubs in really easily.

I have been smoothing it on my whole body for the last few days. The lotion is made for extra dry skin and it is fragrance free. I also gave some to my Mom and Brother, who both have dry skin.

This Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion is advertised by word of mouth, so I want to spread the news about it around. Vaseline started advertising this new lotion in a small town in Alaska, by giving it to one person. They chose Alaska because of the cold harsh weather, you can read the story here: http://m80im.com/newsroom/2008/11/11/vaselineclinicaltherapy/

So I want to help "Prescribe" this new lotion that is as strong as a prescription lotion, but over the counter, to you! You all know, I love Vaseline lotion, because Vaseline is one of the most moisturizing ingredients out there!

New Neutrogena Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin

So I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and I saw a new Neutrogena sunscreen. Do you wear sunscreen everyday? It really is important to protect you against the sun's harsh rays. Incidental exposure adds up when you are just driving around in your car. It is an all physical sunscreen for people with sensitive skin. It is called, Neutrogena SPF 60 for sensitive skin. Check it out at Wal-Mart or at drugstore.com.

Here are the ingredients: (note: the ingredients are in alphabetical order, NOT greatest to least.)

Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (4.9%), Zinc Oxide (4.7%)

Inactive Ingredients: Alumina, Arachidyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Glucoside, Ascorbic Acid, Beeswax, Behenyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, BHT, Bisobolol, Butylene Glycol, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Cetyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone, Dimethicone PEG 8 Laurate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyl Dimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Methicone, Methylisothiazolinone, Pantothenic Acid, PEG 100 Stearate, PEG 8, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Polysorbate 60, Retinyl Palmitate, Silica, Stearic Acid, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Trisiloxane, Water, Xanthan Gum

The high level of SPF is pretty amazing from the percentages of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. If you enter the numbers into the CIBA.com calculator, you would get a Pigment Persistent Darkening(PPD) of around 12. Remember PPD is the number that fights against the UVA rays, which causes aging. A PPD of 12 is good, especially for a physical sunscreen.

Let me know if you try this one! Hopefully it will not be greasy nor leave a white cast. Remember to wear 1/4 teaspoon to your face and a 1/4 teaspoon of sunscreen to your neck. And don't forget to wear sunscreen everyday rain or shine!

Diminish Lip Lines and Wrinkles with Lipstick

We all age and get wrinkles, it is a part of our journey called life. We try to age gracefully as best we can. Well, Shiesido has come out with a new product to help your lips stay beautiful and supple.

Lips, do not forget about your lips. Wrinkles and fine lines can be magnified if you are not wearing the right lipstick. Shiesido has discovered a way lipstick that uses pigment and shine to hide those lines! So you can still have the shine on your lips.

“...spherical pigments are often used to disguise fine lines and wrinkles in products such as foundations, but the oil content of a lipstick can make these hard to use. Shiseido argues that it has solved this problem by creating a spherical pearlizing agent with a two-layer structure consisting of a spherical powder of uniform particle size at the core, surrounded by a layer of pearlizing particles."(cosmeticdesign.com)

This lipstick sounds very interesting. I say why not try it, when it comes out! Although, it does seem like a lipstick and a gloss on top would work. Well, let me know if you try it! In the mean time don’t forget to apply your SPF lipstick or use a chapstick with SPF under your lipstick. So go ahead and protect your lips from wrinkles with the best anti aging product, sunscreen!

Beauty Blog Face Lift and Shopping

So what do you all think of my new beauty blog face lift or template? It was time to take down the beautiful Christmas template and I thought this one looked pretty. I have been thinking about changing up my blog for a bit over the holidays too. I am thinking I want to expand into a couple other areas besides beauty and skincare.

Shopping! I love shopping and finding the best deals, as you all know it’s all about the ingredients when it comes to skincare. Therefore, some of the best products are in drugstores.

So I thought why not throw in some other shopping posts too. I mean what you wear affects how you feel and it is all part of your Femme Façade. After all making a great first impression is important.

I will definitely still be talking about beauty products and the latest anti-aging news, but I thought why not expand a bit in 2009!

Beauty Sweepstakes Friday Freebies!

BC Powder has a one time sweepstakes for one grand prize for $5,000 to help pay off your holiday bills! Who couldn’t use cash!

Woman’s Day has a daily sweepstakes to win a Revitalash mascara! Now, you know I am not big on buying this mascara, because I do not think it is worth, given that it cost $150 for one tube. I think there are plenty of drugstore brands that can do just as good, but if you win it why not try it!

Old Navy has a daily sweepstakes for $1,000 cash for fashion! I like Old Navy, they have some really soft sweaters sometimes.

And Woman’s Day has another daily sweepstakes for a chance to win 1 out 3 gift cards for $250 to T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, which are two of my favorite stores! I love the deals on big brand names!

Have fun winning a wonderful beauty skincare product or other prize!
